My son’s at university – if we take out an IT4Home Care Plan can he use it too?

If you’ve signed up as a Premium customer he most certainly can! In fact, that’s the beauty of our Premium membership As well as getting all the help you need when you’re at home, family members on our Premium IT4Home Care Plan are also covered for unlimited telephone support anywhere in the UK and abroad. If the problem can’t be solved and you’re in this country, we might even be able to send out an engineer! With PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones all included in the IT4Home Care Plan premium membership, you’ll soon see how the savings add up.

Why does my iPad work fine in one room and not another?

You’re not the first person to ask. In fact, we get lots of questions like that from customers who just can’t get their head around some of the things that go wrong with their internet and Wifi. It’s all so confusing when you’ve got routers, broadband, Wifi signals and internet connections to consider. Working out what’s gone wrong and how to fix it can be a real brain tease. That’s why we include support for the internet and Wifi in all three of our IT4Home Care Plan packages. After all, why waste your time and head space when one of our IT4Home engineers can diagnose the problem and quickly put it right?

You have your own anti-virus and anti-malware protection – what’s wrong with what I’ve got?

It’s not that anything is wrong with yours – it’s just that ours might be better! For a start, if you’re using free anti-virus or anti-malware you probably get annoying pop-ups asking you to upgrade – well you won’t get that with ours. It might be that you’ve ended up with more than one anti-virus program on your computer – and that’s not good either because conflicting programs can work against each other, causing PC problems.

We’ll uninstall all your current anti-virus and anti-malware and start with a clean slate with our special cloud based software. This nifty system means we can monitor your computer, proactively keeping tabs on any nasty viruses, worms, encryption-based malware and the latest threat, Ransomware. Any problems and we can press a button our end and quickly see off any threats to your computer’s security.

Can your IT4Home Care Plan really save us money on computer repairs?

In short, yes! You’re probably a typical family with a whole range of tech between you – computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets. And every time something goes wrong with one of your devices, you have to pay to get it sorted. With the IT4Home Care plan you don’t have to worry about the cost of computer repairs because you’re completely covered. You get unlimited telephone support, which is often all that’s needed to fix the problem. If it’s a bit more complex, whatever membership package you’re on you’ll receive one free emergency callout. And if we have to take your computer to our HQ to repair it? It won’t cost you a thing!

How often should my computer have a health check?

Like a car service, we recommend having your computer looked at once a year. A health check gives us chance to get under your PC’s bonnet and check for anything that could be slowing it down or making it work less efficiently. It’s a really thorough examination that lets us know what needs fine-tuning and what needs more of a fix. Once we’ve made our assessment, you’ll probably want to book in for a computer service, when one of our IT4Home engineers will do all the necessary work to get your computer firing on all cylinders again.

I’d be lost without my tech gadgets. If they go wrong, I won’t have to wait for days for help, will I?

Absolutely not! At IT4Home, we pride ourselves on helping customers with their IT problems as quickly as possible. First off, we’ll see if we can fix the problem over the phone – you just have to allow us access to your computer and we’ll do all the twiddling our end. If that doesn’t work, an engineer will jump in one of our IT4Home minis and get right out to you. With our Rapid Response, we aim to be with you within 24 hours – or you can book an Emergency Callout to have someone there within 4 hours. Worst-case scenario and we need to take your PC to our workshop for repair, we’ll get on with the job and get it back to you ASAP with our free Collect & Return service.
